Maria Gill-Author


Some thoughts from our class about the visit...

Maria Gill is an author that likes writing non-fiction. She's from the North Island. maria came to school to show some of her books. Some of the books she writes are called Rangitoto, Save Our Seas, Hall of Fame and Dogs on the Job. Maris has two kids called Tristan and Rhiannon. By Anna.

Maria Gill is from the North Island. She writes books like Dogs on the Job and Hall of Fame. She goes to different countries, and writes stories  about what they do. She came here and shared her stories and talked about her interviews with famous people. By Joe

Finally Maria Gill, the extrodinary author, has come to Hawea Flat School to share her books and writing knowledge with the pupils. She writes non-fiction books about animals and the environment. A Year 4 boy called Dylan like the Hall of Fame book, full of information about famous people. By Dylan

Today Maria Gill came to school to talk to us about the books she has written. Maria Gill is a famous writer, she has written quite a lot of books. She was the first person to write a book about the kokako. Maria showed us some pictures and asked us questions about them.  'Thank you Maria for coming. I enjoyed Dogs on the Job.' By Lauren

Maria Gill came in to share her books. She writes about animals, like dogs, kokako, kiwis, famous people and volcanoes. She lives in the North Island. She interviews people about their lives, and she gets ideas so she can write stories. Doc Rangers protect native animals so they don't die. They also kill pests. by Leithan
